Banner printing, done locally

Ordering a banner from a local printer is simple. You can talk to the people making it, see a proper proof before it’s printed, and pop in to collect it from LS4, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4.30pm, rather than waiting for a courier. There’s no minimum order, so one banner is just as welcome as fifty. And if you’re not sure what size or material you need, we’ll give you straight advice before you spend anything.

Material and print

Our banners are printed in full colour at 1440dpi on tough 440gsm PVC banner material that’s made for outdoor use. Colours are bold and text stays sharp, even from across the street.

Hems and eyelets

Every banner is finished with taped hems all the way round and eyelets about every 500mm as standard, so it’s ready to tie up as soon as it arrives. If you need extra eyelets, eyelets in particular places or pole pockets, just ask.

Sizes

We print from a 1600mm roll, so a banner can be up to 1.6 metres in one direction in a single piece, and as long as you need in the other. Larger banners are made by joining or welding panels together, up to 20 metres long and 3 metres high.

Mesh banners

For windy spots like scaffolding, fences and exposed building sites, a mesh banner lets the wind pass through, so there’s less strain on the fixings.

Double-sided banners

Banners that will be seen from both sides, such as lamppost banners or banners hung across a hall, can be printed on both sides.

Choosing the right size

Think about where the banner will hang and how far away people will be when they read it. A common rule of thumb is about 25mm of letter height for every 3 metres of viewing distance, so a banner meant to be read from across a road needs big, bold lettering and not too many words. Measure the railings, fence or wall first. If you’re not sure, send us a photo and we’ll suggest a size.

How quickly can you print a banner in Leeds?

Usually in 2 to 3 working days once you’ve approved the proof, and faster if you need our urgent service. You can collect from our workshop in LS4, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4.30pm.

How big can a PVC banner be?

We print from a 1600mm roll, so up to 1.6 metres in one direction in one piece. Bigger banners, such as building and scaffold banners, are made by joining or welding panels, up to 20,000mm by 3,000mm.

How long does an outdoor PVC banner last?

It depends on where it hangs and how windy it is. A well-fixed PVC banner will usually last 3 to 5 years outdoors. A mesh banner is the better choice in exposed spots.

Do you make lamppost banners?

Yes. We can print double-sided banners for lamppost brackets and high street campaigns. Tell us the bracket size and we’ll make them to fit.

Can you put my banner up?

Yes. Our installers can fit banners on buildings, railings and scaffolding around Leeds. Or collect it and put it up yourself using the eyelets.

Should I choose PVC or mesh?

Choose standard PVC for most banners. It gives the brightest print and is fine on railings and walls. Choose mesh for large banners on scaffolding or in windy, open spots.

Artwork and design

If you have print-ready artwork, send it over as a PDF or vector file. If not, our sign design team can create your banner from your logo, colours and wording. Either way, you’ll get a proof to approve before anything is printed. A tip for good banner artwork: keep important text away from the edges, where the hems and eyelets sit, and use strong contrast, such as dark text on a light background, so it can be read at a glance.

Putting your banner up

Banners come ready to fix with cable ties, bungees or rope through the eyelets, and we can supply the fixings too. If it needs to go up high, on a building or over a shop front, our installers can fit it for you. They hold CSCS, IPAF and PASMA cards and bring the right access equipment. Looking after your banner

A good banner can be used again and again, which makes it great value for annual events, sports seasons and repeat promotions. When it comes down, let it dry, then roll it loosely with the print facing outwards rather than folding it, as folds leave creases. Store it somewhere dry. Clean it with a soft cloth and mild, soapy water, and avoid solvents. If you need the same banner again next year, we keep your artwork on file so a reprint is quick.
